What have I done for Art lately?
Art who? Art Garfunkel? Art Linkletter?
Speaking of Art Garfunkel, I was impressed that his website includes a list of all the books he has read since 1968. If I had recorded all the books I’ve ever read I could give Garfunkel a run for his money. But My list only goes back to 2013.
But enough about Garfunkel. What have I done for my art lately?
Moving the Weight of Art
Just recently I have accomplished the following in an effort to share my art:
- I launched this new website with the article “The Weight of Art.” This website allows me to present the broader array of my art endeavors. Doodlesam.com kind of pigeon-holed me while all along I’ve been creating more than just doodles. It was a good means of entering the public art realm. Now that I’m in the room and feeling less apprehensive, it’s time to empty some of my pockets on the coffee table and share what I got.
- I added a STORE to this website. I can’t keep everything I make. I’m going to loosen my grip and let a few things go.
- I expanded my presence on the Doodle Addicts website. I get lots of inspiration from the artists on this website. I’ve been a member for years. I’ve made a commitment to be more active on Doodle Addicts.
And now for some artwork I’ve been working on lately.
Oh Lort
I put the finishing touches on the painting above. And I started another one in this series.
Bird Skull
My daughter recently suggested that we make art to send to each other. Each month we will pick a random them, create whatever comes to mind, and then mail our work to each other. We found a website with a random theme generator. Our first theme turned out to be “bird skull.” So we went with it. I have a few drawings in the works in addition to this painting. (Click here to check out my daughter’s website.)
Ralph in the Desert at Sunset
I added more detail to this guy. That’s vomit. He’s not eating a pine tree. The vomit needs more detail. Maybe a chicken bone or two. Something along these lines:

More to Come
I have more pieces in progress. I’ll save those for another post.
