Honestly, you should get outside more. That’s good advice.
Think of all you are missing right now sitting inside on your computer, looking at this blog post. There is sunshine and friendly breezes. (Should I have used “are” instead of “is” there?) Even if there’s a downpour and wild winds, you should step outside for a bit. Maybe stay on your porch where it’s safe and watch the big maple trees swaying in the wind. Isn’t it something that you can’t see wind? You can only see its effects on trees and grass and the litter at the end of your driveway.
Go outside and close your eyes. What do you hear? Blue jays and mourning doves and crows and crickets and your neighbor’s Honda with the jacked-up exhaust. You’re missing so much if all you ever hear are indoor sounds.
Now leave your computer and go outside. If you’re looking at this on your phone, put it in your pocket. You can come back later. The internet will always be here. Until the apocalypse. That’s going to ruin everything. You should probably stay inside that day.
I need to follow my own advice right now and go the heck outside.
